Do you really need an air exchange system? No one wants to pay for something they don’t need. However, if your house is tight and well insulated, you do need a well balanced air exchange system. They are mandatory in Canada.
A properly installed air exchange system will bring in fresh air and warm it as it comes in. The heat is recovered from the stale air before it is expelled. How does it work?

In summer, HRV and ERV’s work in reverse – removing heat from the incoming air and transferring it to the outgoing air, to keep your home cool and fresh.
