Living and working close to home makes it easier for us to respond quickly to your requests. It seems that there are always plenty of last minute requests from leaking pipes, water damage and mold, to securing a home after a break in, a low temp alarm, problems encountered by summer guests and/or renters, or simply a desire to meet to discuss a job while you are in town.
Who knows, you might even be family! There are many relatives of the Daggett family in Cushing and Chris’ geneology goes directly back to Dr. Moses Robinson, one of the earliest settlers of Cushing.
Brad Becket, our son’s favorite teacher and an avid historian who eerily knew the precise date of birth of almost everyone in town, drew up a family tree to show that there were 8 descendents of Moses Robinson in our son’s 5th grade class. Chris is also a descendent of a Mayflower passenger, very likely a carpenter, as were many of the Mayflower passengers. It is said that, in the late 1700’s, nearly 20% of New Englanders were related to someone who came over on the Mayflower. Many of you have moved to Cushing only to discover that someone connected to you had also moved to Cushing. Fortunately, Chris and I (his wife Crystal) are not related, although I am distantly related to Brad Becket!
So there you go; it is a very small world. Maybe that is why Cushing is such a special place with a strong connection between the residents whether they are locals or are from “away”.
In addition to working in Cushing, we service many other communities such as Friendship, Rockland, Thomaston, and Spruce Head. Some communities like, Castine, may seem to be too far from Cushing to make sense for us but they are not. We have employees who live half way between Cushing and Castine so please don’t hesitate to call us even for a one day handyman project.
We have a lot of experience working on Islands such as Isleboro and Monhegan where there are ferries and have done multiple year projects for clients on private islands such as Teel Island, Allen Island, Benner Island, and Southern Island.
